Here in Ontario we just enjoyed our first Family Day; a new statutory holiday and the perfect opportunity to catch up on some unfinished business.
Matthew got the weekend off to a rolling start! After 3 1/2 months of dwelling on his back, he finally took the big leap (which he's actually been building up to for a few weeks now) and managed an almost complete roll. Now there is no keeping him still. We just have to teach how to get the shoulder out from underneath.
Needless to say, we're in for some new excitement now that mobility is increasing. We've learned after the first child that the floor is always a way more predictable environment than the bed. He may not crawl but you'd be surprised how far he can inch around with these new moves.

And by some monumental aligning of stars and moon I somehow ended up being on my own with the kids on Saturday and they both fell asleep during the day at the exact same time. Wonders never cease!
I was literally skipping up to my room with a glass of wine (using exceptional stealth, quiet...and balance) to finally, finally finish Julia's new preschool pillow. Now that she is only there part-time it has become a big nuisance to carry a full-sized pillow back and forth along with all of her winter gear, so we made a deal...she downsizes to a smaller pillow and I make her something one of a kind and girly.

The pillow is now complete, has been test driven and given the seal of approval from Princess Jules. Next I'm going to make her a matching carrying bag complete with an applique flower (seen in progress above) to hopefully encourage her to carry her own darn pillow back and forth from the car.
And last, but not least, I finished the back of the Minimalist Cardigan in record time.
Just look at all those happy little moss stitches. This sweater really is so much fun once you get the rythym of the four row pattern.

Wow! Cute pillow. I love the lime green. Sewing is such a great skill. I haven't yet learned to sew, but hopefully one day!
