Things That Make a Good Day

  • Hearing the wind rattling around at night while I'm snug in bed.
  • Waking up to the sound of more slushy snow hitting the panes in the morning, and not having to wake up early and rush into work (two years as a stay-at-home-mom and I still rank that as one of my favourite winter luxuries).
  • Living in this lovely little notch on the snow belt that let's us enjoy the early winter treat of snow. NOTE: I may modify this opinion as early as January. Just saying.
  • Starting our day with the Kindergarten's Holiday Sing-and-Craft-Along this morning. (Yes, we have it recorded and I am fully prepared to subject family to the reindeer-hokey-pokey right after the turkey is served in a few weeks).
  • Having a quiet home-bound afternoon with leftover Chinese takeout, a warm blanket, my knitting and several episodes to catch-up on (it's an impossible habit to break - the show I hated being subjected to as a child and can't resist subjecting others to as an adult).
